What is PhilHealth YAKAP?

PhilHealth YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program) is the upgraded and expanded version of the PhilHealth Konsulta program. It is a government initiative specifically designed as an outpatient benefit package to help Filipinos stay healthy through regular medical check-ups, early disease detection, and access to free outpatient medicines—all without the need for hospital confinement.

Who is eligible for PhilHealth YAKAP?

Every Filipino is eligible! You just need to register at your preferred YAKAP Clinic (like Makati Life) to start using the benefits.

Where can I find Makati Life YAKAP Clinic?

Our YAKAP clinic is at the 3rd Floor inside the Sleep Center, Makati Life Medical Center, Malugay St. and Metropolitan Ave., Makati City. We are open Monday-Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

How to Register for PhilHealth YAKAP at Makati Life?

If you already have a PhilHealth Identification Number (PIN), you can register by following these 3 easy steps:

  1. Register through any PhilHealth channel:
    • eGovPH Mobile App
    • PhilHealth Member Portal
    • (https://memberinquiry.philhealth.gov.ph/member/)
    • PhilHealth Offices nationwide
    • Directly at the MLMC YAKAP Clinic:
      Located on the 3rd Floor, Makati Life Medical Center, Malugay St. and Metropolitan Ave., Makati City.
  2. Select Makati Life Medical Center as your YAKAP provider.
  3. Visit Makati Life for your First Patient Encounter (FPE) and consultation.

What should I bring when I visit Makati Life YAKAP Clinic?

To ensure a smooth process at Makati Life Medical Center

(MLMC), please bring the following:

If you are ALREADYREGISTERED under YAKAP at MLMC:

  • Valid government-issued ID
  • PhilHealth ID/Number
  • Certificate of Indigency (if indigent)
  • Philhealth Check Utility (PCU) Number through

Note: Just in case your Philhealth Check Utility (PCU) Liveness Check fails, you may still proceed in visiting Makati Life YAKAP Clinic.

If you are NOT YET REGISTERED under YAKAP at MLMC:

  • Valid government-issued ID
  • PhilHealth ID/Number
  • Certificate of Indigency (if indigent)

When you arrive, please inform the MLMC staff immediately that you are visiting the YAKAP Clinic.

What is First Patient Encounter (FPE)?

The First Patient Encounter (FPE) is your first visit of the year. During this visit, we will gather your basic health information to check for health risks. Please note that the FPE is a health assessment and not yet a full medical consultation.

Is there any cost associated with Philhealth YAKAP benefit?

Patients with certificate of indigency are not required to pay any co-payment. Otherwise, a co-payment of Php 900 will apply. After this payment, the patient may continue to avail of all covered YAKAP services for the rest of the year without any additional fees. This fee must be paid before any laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, or the dispensing of medicines.

Are medicines also covered by YAKAP?

Yes. Selected outpatient medicines are covered through YAKAP. These include:

  • Cotrimoxazole
  • Nitrofurantoin
  • Ciprofloxacin
  • Clarithromycin
  • Oral Rehydration Salts
  • Prednisone

How can I receive free medicines?

After registering and choosing Makati Life Medical Center as your YAKAP Clinic, follow these steps:

  1. Visit us for your First Patient Encounter (FPE) and first consultation.
  2. During this visit, our YAKAP doctor will assess your health condition.
  3. If needed, the YAKAP doctor will prescribe medicines based on your condition. Only registered doctors at a YAKAP Clinic can prescribe these free medicines.
  4. You can then claim your prescribed medicines for free at our hospital pharmacy.

Is everyone qualified to receive medicine under this program?

Yes. All patients who have consulted with our accredited YAKAP Physician and have been prescribed by the same doctor are eligible.

Are medicines used during confinement (inpatient) or emergency care included?

No. The PhilHealth YAKAP and GAMOT programs are strictly for outpatient services only.

Can a representative pick up the medicines on behalf of the member? What do they need to show at the pharmacy?

Yes, a representative may claim the medicines. They just need to bring:

  • Duly signed Letter of Authorization
  • The patient’s or member’s valid ID
  • The representative’s valid ID

Can I go straight to your pharmacy to get free medicine?

No. You must first get a prescription from a doctor at the YAKAP Clinic where you are registered. This prescription is required to claim your free medicines at our pharmacy.

Can I get a one-year supply of my maintenance drugs all at once?

No. While your YAKAP doctor can prescribe up to a threemonth supply, the pharmacy can only give you one month’s worth of medicine per visit. As long as your prescription remains valid, so you can simply return to the pharmacy when your supply is running low.

What cancer screening tests are covered by PhilHealth YAKAP at Makati Life Medical Center?

Makati Life Medical Center offers several cancer screening tests under the PhilHealth YAKAP program. Currently, these include:

  • Mammogram (for breast cancer)
  • Low-dose Chest CT Scan (for lung cancer)
  • Colonoscopy (for colorectal cancer)

Can I go directly to an accredited health facility to get a cancer screening test?

No. You need a referral from your YAKAP Clinic doctor before you can get any cancer screening test covered under PhilHealth YAKAP

How will I know if I need a specialist referral?

If your YAKAP doctor determines that your condition requires more specialized care, they will give you a referral to a specialist.

Once you are referred to a specialist, please be aware that succeeding consultations and treatments with that specialist are no longer covered by the PhilHealth YAKAP program.

I already have a Yellow Card. Can I still register for PhilHealth YAKAP?

Yes, you may still register under YAKAP and proceed with your FPE and consultations

Ano ang PhilHealth YAKAP?

Ang PhilHealth YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program) ay ang mas pinagandang bersyon ng programang PhilHealth Konsulta. Ito ay isang inisyatibo ng gobyerno na idinisenyo bilang isang outpatient benefit package upang tulungan ang mga Pilipino na manatiling malusog sa pamamagitan ng regular na check-up, maagang pagtukoy sa sakit, at libreng gamot para sa mga outpatient—na hindi na nangangailangan ng pagkaka-ospital o confinement.

Para kanino ang Philhealth YAKAP?

Para ito sa lahat ng Pilipino. Kailangan lang mag-register sa napili mong YAKAP Clinic para magamit ang mga libreng serbisyo.

Ang First Patient Encounter (FPE) ay ang iyong unang pagbisita sa loob ng isang taon. Dito kukuhanin ang iyong basic health information para macheck ang mga health risks. Paalala na ang FPE ay hindi pa isang medical consultation.

Mayroon bang bayad para magamit ang mga benepisyo ko sa PhilHealth YAKAP?

Ang mga pasyenteng may Certificate of Indigency ay hindi na kailangang magbayad ng anumang co-payment. Kung wala naman, may bayad na Php 900 na co-payment. Pagkatapos nito, maaari nang magpatuloy ang pasyente na gumamit ng lahat ng sakop na YAKAP services para sa buong taon nang walang dagdag na bayad. Kailangang bayaran ang fee na ito bago sumailalim sa anumang laboratory, diagnostic tests, o bago kumuha ng gamot.

Kasama rin ba ang mga gamot sa sakop ng YAKAP?

Opo. May kasamang piling gamot para sa mga outpatient sa ilalim ng YAKAP. Kabilang dito ang:

Paano ako makakakuha ng libreng gamot?

Pagkatapos magparehistro at piliin ang Makati Life Medical Center bilang iyong YAKAP Clinic, sundin ang mga hakbang na ito:

  1. Pumunta sa aming YAKAP clinic para sa iyong First
    Patient Encounter (FPE) at paunang konsultasyon.
  2. Sa pagbisitang ito, susuriin ng aming YAKAP doktor ang iyong kalusugan.
  3. Kung kinakailangan, magbibigay ang YAKAP doktor ng reseta para sa mga gamot na naaayon sa iyong kondisyon. Tanging ang mga rehistradong doktor sa YAKAP Clinic lamang ang maaaring magreseta ng mga libreng gamot na ito.
  4. Maaari mo nang kunin ang mga niresetang gamot nang libre sa aming botika sa loob ng ospital.

Lahat ba ay pwedeng makatanggap ng gamot sa ilalim ng programang ito?

Oo. Lahat ng pasyenteng nagpakonsulta sa aming accredited YAKAP Physician at nabigyan ng reseta ng parehong doktor ay kwalipikado.

Kasama ba sa YAKAP ang mga gamot para sa pagpapaospital (confinement) o emergency care?

Hindi po. Ang PhilHealth YAKAP at GAMOT program ay para sa mga outpatient na serbisyo lamang.

Maaari bang representative ang kumuha ng gamot para sa miyembro? Ano ang kailangang ipakita sa botika?

Opo, pwede. Magdala lamang ng:

  • Duly Signed Letter of Authorization
  • Valid ID ng pasyente o miyembro
  • Valid ID ng representative

Maaari bang dumiretso sa inyong botika para kumuha ng libreng gamot?

Hindi po. Kailangan muna ng reseta mula sa doktor sa YAKAP Clinic kung saan kayo nakarehistro. Ang reseta na ito ang gagamitin para makuha ang libreng gamot sa aming botika.

Maaari ko na bang kunin ang maintenance drugs ko para sa buong taon?

Hindi po. Bagama't maaaring mag-reseta ang doktor ng hanggang tatlong buwang supply, isang buwan lang na gamot ang maaaring ibigay ng botika sa bawat pagpunta ninyo. Hanggat valid pa ang inyong reseta, maaari kayong bumalik sa botika kapag paubos na ang inyong gamot.

Anu-anong cancer screening tests ang libre sa ilalim ng PhilHealth YAKAP sa Makati Life Medical Center?

Maraming cancer screening tests ang sakop ng PhilHealth YAKAP sa Makati Life Medical Center. Sa ngayon, narito ang mga kasama sa programa:

  • Mammogram (para sa breast cancer)
  • Low-dose Chest CT Scan (para sa lung cancer)
  • Colonoscopy (para sa colorectal cancer)

Maaari ba akong dumeretso sa isang accredited health facility para sa cancer screening test?

Hindi po. Kinakailangan ang referral mula sa doktor sa YAKAP Clinic bago makakuha ng alinman sa cancer screening test na sakop ng PhilHealth YAKAP

Paano ko malalaman kung kailangan ko nang magparefer sa isang specialist?

Kung makita ng aming YAKAP doctor na kailangan ninyo ng mas malalim na pagsusuri, bibigyan kayo ng referral para sa isang specialist (doktor na dalubhasa sa isang partikular na sakit).

Mahalagang paalala na kapag kayo ay nai-refer na sa specialist, ang mga susunod na konsultasyon at gamutan sa specialist na iyon ay hindi na sagot ng PhilHealth YAKAP

Opo, maaari ka pa ring magparehistro sa YAKAP at magpatuloy sa iyong FPE at konsultasyon.
