When is the opening of the Center for Emergency Medicine?

Makati Life Medical Center extends its better care promise from primary care services to emergency care through its Center for Emergency Medicine, which will be open 24/7 starting May 25, 2025, to handle urgent and emergent cases.

What is the hotline number of the Center for Emergency Medicine?

For questions and concerns, kindly reach out to the Makati Life Medical Center Medical Contact Center or Concierge, available 24/7 at (02) 8888-2020, via mobile at (+63) 919-170-0025, or by sending a message through our Facebook Messenger at makatilife.official.

What is the Ambulance Service number?

For an ambulance response, please call (02) 8888-2020 or (+63) 919-170-0025.

What can patients expect when they visit the Center for Emergency Medicine?

All patients must pass through the ER triage for registration. Following the initial assessment, ER doctors or nurses will determine if the patient requires specialized care. Initial treatment and examination will be provided in accordance with standard operating procedures. The patient will be reassessed when the laboratory and diagnostic test results are available: if the results are normal, the patient will be recommended for discharge; if the results are indeterminate, further observation will be suggested; and if the results are abnormal, the patient will be recommended for admission.

What if the patient cannot be accommodated at the Center for Emergency Medicine? What is the next step?

Once the patient has been assessed by the triage nurse and the case is deemed outside the scope of services currently provided by the Center for Emergency Medicine, the triage nurse will refer the patient to another hospital or medical facility since the center is currently in its soft launch phase.

What types of medical emergencies can the Center for Emergency Medicine accommodate?

The Center for Emergency Medicine can handle a wide range of emergency cases, including injuries and trauma, infections, respiratory emergencies, obstetric emergencies, and other general medical emergencies excluding cardiovascular or neurological emergencies such as Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), stroke, or bite cases that require intervention from a Brain Attack Team (BAT).

Can patients request a medico-legal certificate from the Center for Emergency Medicine?

Medico legal certificates are only issued by government hospitals. Since Makati Life Medical Center is a private hospital, the Center for Emergency Medicine does not issue medico legal certificates. However, patients may be referred to affiliated medico legal doctors if available.

Can patients use PhilHealth, Yellow Card, or HMO for their medical bills at the Center for Emergency Medicine?

Patients with a Yellow Card can have their medical bills covered for outpatient consultations, emergency and inpatient care, including laboratory and diagnostic services, as well as selected medicines.

For patients using PhilHealth, medical bills are also not yet covered, as the hospital is in the process of securing accreditation from PhilHealth, as part of its ongoing expansion and transition from a clinic to a hospital.

For patients with an HMO, medical bills are also not yet covered, as the hospital is in the process of securing accreditation from its HMO partners, as part of its ongoing expansion and transition from a clinic to a hospital.
