What is the admission process?

Patient Admitted Through Emergency Room (ER)
For patients who have severe injuries or critical conditions where immediate access to a specific care level is crucial, the patients’ point of entry is through the emergency room, the attending ER doctor will determine whether the patient meets the criteria for hospital admission. If the patient is eligible for admission, the doctor will issue an official Admission Order. Once the Admission Order is issued, the admission specialist will proceed with the patient’s admission.

Patient Admitted Through Direct Admission

In this case, an MLMC-affiliated doctor will issue an official Admission Order. Once the Admission Order is issued, the patient may proceed to the admission unit where the admission specialist will assist the patient in admission.

Discharge Process

Once the patients are cleared and recommended for discharge, their attending physician will issue “May-Go-Home” orders to the nursing unit. This order will be communicated to all servicing physicians of the patient to verify if there are any objections. Once confirmed, the billing process will proceed, and discharge clearance with discharge instructions will be issued by the Nursing Unit. The discharge instructions include coordinating follow-up care and addressing any questions or concerns the patient or their family may have. After this, the Support Services Group will be notified to assist the patient for a seamless discharge.
