Purpose of this FAQ

This guide providesemployees and internal stakeholders with a common understanding of the MakatiLife Medical Center’s Surgery Lounge under the Integrated Patient Navigation initiative, and the roles of the different teams involved in the electivesurgical journey.

It is intended to help employees answer basic questions consistently and know when to refer patients, companions, or colleagues to the appropriate team.

A. ABOUT THE SURGERY LOUNGE

1. What is the Surgery Lounge?

The Surgery Lounge is adedicated space and coordinated care model designed to support patientsundergoing elective surgical procedures.

It is part of MakatiLife Medical Center's Integrated Patient Navigation for Elective SurgicalCare initiative, which aims to provide seamless care coordination from thesurgical decision through recovery.

2. Where is the Surgery Lounge located?
Surgery Lounge is located at the 2nd Floor, in front of the Results Releasing Hub,easily accessible through our Lobby elevators.

3. When should I refer a patient to the Surgery Lounge?
Patients should be referred to the Surgery Lounge when they are scheduled for an elective surgical procedure and are already part of the surgical navigation process.

The model brings together the patient, physician, Patient Navigator, nursing team, Operating Room, HMO Concierge, Billing and Cashier, Medical Secretary, and other support services to create a more coordinated surgical experience.

4. What’s the operating hours of our Surgery Lounge?
Our Surgery Lounge is accessible from 00:00 AM to 00:00 PM, Mondays to Sundays
